Facilities at the centre
The small hall has a capacity for 48 people, that includes tables and chairs.
The hall also has a television that can be connected to a laptop for presentations.
This hall has a small kitchen area that can be used to make refreshments such as tea and coffee.
Both Portsmouth Deaf Centre Club and Portsmouth Deaf Friendly Club meetings are usually held in the Small Hall but occasionally the Main Hall will be booked when needed for planned activities for example Skittles or Curling evenings.
Limited catering facilities are available in the Small Hall which are used for simple refreshments like tea and coffee.
There is a bar offering a reasonable range of drinks, the Bar Lounge has both Darts and a pool table.
The toilets includes Gents, Ladies, an accessible toilet for disabled people as well as Baby changing facilities.
There is limited car parking at the rear of the Club, additional parking is available at Asda car park if required. On Saturday evenings you can park in Asda car park for free after 7 pm.
Members of the Deaf association can hire out either the Small Hall or Main Hall at discounted fees for their own use.
Members of the public can hire the halls for events or meetings. The large hall can be hired out for events but they have to have 2 members of Portsmouth deaf association or the deaf club as references.
The bar area has a fully licensed bar facility that can be hired when booking the halls, they have a selection of beverages on offer.
There is a pool table available as well as a darts board. There is a Deaf club pool team that people are welcomed to join.
The large hall has capacity for 80 people, this hall is used for a mixture of activities. Attached to the large hall is a kitchen where refreshments can be made.
Portsmouth association for the blind use the hall for their lunches and activities Monday-Thursday.
A dance school has their classes in the hall and the Apostle Faith Mission have their church service every Sunday.
Every fortnight the Saturday Kids Zone have their activities in the large hall which is for deaf children and their siblings. Please see users of the centre for more details.
